let me pick your mind

What an interesting day. I learned a new skill today. The art of lock-picking! I'm not kidding. It is so much fun! First, my dad showed me how to open a masterlock combo lock using a barrett. You know the little snappy thin metal barretts? Yeah, well it works perfectly on the combo locker-type locks. So that was fun and after a half a dozen times, I am now able to open it in about 2 seconds. Faster than if I actually knew the combo!! So then we tried a pair of hand cuffs. Equally as easy to open with the barrett. Always good knowledge to have. I'm loving this barrett. I've decided I'm wearing one all the time from now on. Then we moved up a level; dead-bolt. I was shown how to use a rake(terminology) and a tension wrench to fairly efficently procede to unlock our back door dead-bolt. I practiced about 6 or 7 times and I waas doing pretty good. So, I tried the front door lock, got that one too. There is a mind set involved, it's hard to explain. You almost have to try and think about anything but the lock in order for it to work. It's like you have to be uncaring about weather or not you want it to work, and then all of a sudden, the lock turns, and it's open. It's such a challenging game to play, it almost becomes addicting. Very fun none the less. So now all I need is a cat suit and I'm in buisness!!! Just kidding. Dad did pass his pick set on to me. It was a very exciting day. It was fun for the both of us. He got to share knowledge with me and I got to learn something new. It was a bonding day with dad and that really was the nicest part.
I signed the kids up for preschool today. They are going to start next Tuesday. I went in and toured the school today and it looks like a really nice place. They are going to start by going 3 half days, just until lunch, for the first week and then after that they will go till 3:00. Since I'm not going to be able to go to Florida, at least now I will be able to work while the parents are there. Keep the paycheck comming in. It's going to take a load off of dad and relieve a little of the tension around here. So I think it's a good thing. T. should do pretty good there, and I think it will be good for S. too. I'll let you know what actually happens......
I had Pak and Ted and their daughter, Samantha over for dinner Saturday night. It was nice. I made salmon(cooked in the oven) It turned out delicious!!! I also prepared baby red potatoes boiled in butter and thyme, a fresh spinach salad with cooked eggs, tomatoes and mushrooms, and garlic bread. Pak brought over a very tasty linguini salad, which went perfectly with the meal. I made pastries for dessert out of egg roll wrappers filled with cream cheese and blueberrie pie filling, which were then deep fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar. MMMMMM....... That was the evening that the parents went away for to see a show in the Poconos. They had a good time and so did I and the kids, So that was nice.
I've decided to do a little tye-dye party for the fourth of july. I'm going to bring all the supplies for it over to "big" grandmoms and everybody can do it. I'll just get red and blue dye and we can use white shirts and be all patriotic!!!! Yippee Yeah>!!<
Anyways, that's the news in an oversized nut shell..................
