Chinese Shoe Blues

This past Thursday, I went out with the kids. We went shopping to various stores in Quakertown. I picked up a few new pairs of capri pants for work, but the ultimate goal was a new pair of chinese shoes. After I'd exhausted my options in Q-town, I decided to go to Montgomeryville and try my luck there. I thought for sure I'd find them at Pier One.Nope. How about the giant shoe outlet nearby?Nope. I am striking out again and again. I gave up. We decided to spend the rest of the day at "big" Grandmoms. It was a nice visit and the kids were good and tired when we left, which is always a good thing. Later that night I got on-line, because as everyone knows(or should, by now), you can find anything on-line. And I mean anything! Anyway, I was able to find chinese shoes for$5.95/pair. Well, you can't beat the price, I'll take two! They arrived today, I'm all excited, but wait...I ordered a size 38, which is supposed to be a womans size7. Well, what I was supposed to order was a size 37. They're too big! Oh, the devistation. I tried them on twice just to make sure they really were too big. Yep. Too big. So now I have to send them back and wait some more for them to exchange them for the propper size. Poo. And I'd just finished sewing myself a new skirt to wear to work, but I was waiting for the white chinese shoes, because black shoes just wouldn't do. Now I'll have to wait another week to show off my new creation. The skirt turned out beautifully, too. It was made out of a fuchia-y pink , raw silk feeling, silver embroidered, fabric. Very east indian feel to it. I did a fifties-style straight skirt that stops just below the knee. Very classic style. Very cute. I'm anxious to wear it. I have other shoes, but they are open-toed and not at all right for work. Oh, women and their shoe misery.

I talked to Uncle Tony today. We had a nice long conversation. It's always good to hear from him. Not a whole lot to relate. We filled each other in on the local news and happenings. He's a good guy. Shout out to Uncle Tony!!! We talked about the possibility of me and the kids(on our way out to Ca.), stopping by Arizona and visiting the in-laws. I don't know if that would even be a realistic event given the assumption that I would be taking I-80 out and I don't know if it goes through Arizona. I'll give it some thought. I know they would really love to see the grandkids.

I've got a date next week. I'm all excited!! His name is Al. He's a good friend of Tina's, and she's said some really nice things about him. We're going to do dinner and mayby something afterwards. I'm not going to be all kiss-and-tell, so this may be all you get, but I was excited about it so I had to say something. But that's all.

I think that's all I got in me tonight. My eyes are getting blurry, I think it's partly caused by the fact that I left my glasses on the kitchen table when I went to bed, so I've been typing this all half-blind. But I could actually be tired. It could happen. I really like writing to the anonimous(god, I know I butchered that word). I hpoe you all enjoy reading this as much as I do witing it.
