Second Parent Day

What is second parent day?-you ask. Well, it is an expression devised by my good friend and fellow single mom, Jo. For all you single moms who have to be mom and dad every day, Fathers Day is a slap in the face. So instead of being offended by the idea that there is a day to celebrate the offender, rejoyce in the idea of second parent day! A day to celebrate that as mom and "second parent", you are providing for your child(ren) with out the aid of a partner, and that you do a great job at it!
I know my children are lucky to have me, and I am lucky to have them. I do the best that I can and they fill my days with love. (except for the times that they drive me batty).We will get by on our own, we have each other, and our love is strong. (They really are good kids.) Happy Second Parent Day to all those single moms.

A new ME

Well, the tattoo is done, the pictures are posted. What do you think? I am amazed at the things in life that can change your attitude.
I used to look at my arm and feel sad and lonely and ashamed and angry
but now theres a joy and hope and a feeling of renewal.
My life is my life again and it feels good.
