Day 1

Today is the day!! We actually left. Hit the road. Made some tracks. Didn't quite make it out of the state, but we got pretty close. We left a little later than we'd hoped, but we were on the road by 11:00am. It was a little nerve racking pulling a trailor for the first time, especially since the first road we were on was under construction and had concrete walls very close to the lanes. I whiteknuckled it for a while, but eventually got onto open road and it was smooth driving after that. The kids are doing pretty good. It's pretty boring for them, but they did really well considering. The cats seem to be doing alright. They seemed a little freaked out at
first, but they are comming out of hiding and they havn't cried, which is more than we can say about the kids. We missed our exit forthe campground and had to backtrack a few miles, but we made it alright and are all set up for the night. I am exhausted, but am grateful to be on the road. It's been a long time comming. the farewells were so heartbreaking and I can hardly believe it is reallyhappening, it seems so sureal sometimes. I can't wait to see how far we get tomarrow. I will keep you posted. Now, I am going to try to get some sleep.
